Diet

What you eat is not necessarily as important as how you eat. Eating reasonable portions at regular times, not too late and not too far apart, in a calm and stress free environment are the most important basics of diet.

Take your time to chew and appreciate the foods you are eating. How often do we inhale our food while doing 10 other things? Some might say, “But I don’t have time to eat,” and the answer to that is you have to make time.

For most people, 3 meals a day are appropriate. If you eat slowly, you’ll feel yourself getting fuller faster so you won’t have to eat as much food. Just to give you an idea, generally no more than 2-4 oz. of meat is required during any one meal.

It’s best not to eat close to bedtime or after 8 pm. I know that can be hard, but you’ll be surprised how much eating earlier helps with both your digestion and your sleep.
